Photographs from Bangalore, July 2001

Inside of Le Meridien, Mumbai

Kentucky Fried Chicken, Bangalore Style

The shoe shine machine outside my door in Bangalore

HP Training Centre (Micro Academy), middle (note well developed frontage)

Road to HP Training Centre (has no name yet)

HP Training Centre -- note the walls and roof. (It is not yet allowed to be connected to mains power). Of course, the permanent internet connection works perfectly and was faster than any place I've been outside of Silicon Valley. But the diesel generators only turned on a bit after 9:00am and shut-off fairly early in the afternoon.

This is not the
Aptec that I used to work for. (In fact it's a famous training centre that nearly everyone either has been to or knows someone who has.)

Is this place for or against dowries?

Hotel Room, Central Park.

Ambassador make cars and also do a taxi service. This is the inside of the one that took me to and from HP each day.

Same taxi again.

And the guy that drove me each day (whose name I don't know).

The roof/lunch area

The view from the roof, including the HP main office, golf course and airport.

Same, ninety degrees around.

Further around still, cows foreground.

Lunch. On Thursday I concluded that Australian
Imodium is no match for Indian bacteria.

The class

I'd fly Saharan just because of the slogan.

Me, writing these down in to my
Agenda system to remember what they all were.
