You may be wondering why Ifost's pages are so, well, minimalist. There are very few graphics, very little layout, no colour usage, and they break all the rules about graphic artistry.
This is deliberate.
Think about it for a moment -- did you visit our website hoping to be shown glossy pictures? To see flashy brochure-style pages? It's unlikely -- you are probably here to download some free software, to read something from our document library, or to find out what we do. So why would you want anything more than the sparse layout you have here?
In fact, tests have found that it is easier and faster to navigate through the style of pages we have here than when we provide images, or fancy styles.
Moreover, if you are vision-impaired (and using a screen reader), or browsing these pages through a WAP-enabled mobile phone, we think you will still find these pages very usable.
What do you think? Is gloss important for this sort of site? What would you like to see here? Write to us and tell us what you think:
