Prediction:

Erik Kosberg's prediction correct. Millennium bug causes economic turmoil.

Objective measurement:

25% of businesses with less than 1000 employees are unable to perform essential functions such as billing.

When:

January 31, 2000

Why:

The millennium bug is not being worked at the level that is required.

Since all computer applications need to have their fix in AT LEAST a year early, to leave time for bug fixes, that means that there are less than 120 weekends to do the work.

There isn't enough time, given the lack of will to change it.

There will be a massive effort in 1998 and 1999 to correct the problem, but it will be too little, too late.
